The Daily Beast was able to obtain internal Snapchat data that shows how it is used daily by its users and highlights its difficulties. Evan Spiegel's company, which has 178 million daily active users , was born as a hybrid between a private messaging application (one-to-one) and public social media (one-to-many). What the leaked data reveals is that the majority of subscribers love to use it as a means of personal communication. As can be seen from the graph, the users who send messages every day are growing, hovering around 80/90 million. Instead, those who post Snapchat Stories remain around 50 million users, despite the growth in subscribers. It must be said that the views of these stories grow by 4.3% to reach 143 million, but much more slowly than the subscriptions.
In August, 64% of users preferred to send "snaps" to friends (on average 34 messages per day) rather than publish Stories.
